With all traineeships including formal off-the-job training in the following areas: horsemanship, motorbike riding, cattle mustering, sheep handling, fencing, welding, vehicle and motorbike maintenance, water supplies, general maintenance and all industry related work. A full time trainee is required to attend two training blocks throughout the duration of their traineeship, whilst a school based trainee attends one training block per term (level II). Level II is the preferred entry level of a trainee, with level III being more advanced.
The trainee is paid in accordance with the relevant Industry Award rates.
RITE trainees are assessed and completed in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) guidelines, applicable to each certificate level. All assessments are competency based, with trainees assessed by either their RITE Field Officer or Instructor. Competency assessed does not imply that trainee is experienced in the tasks- it simply means that trainee has exhibited a degree of underpinning knowledge and skills in accordance with the AQF (Australian Qualification Framework) descriptors
